Large Format Tile Installation in Richmond, BC
We install large porcelain, ceramic and stone tiles up to 48" in Richmond homes and businesses, including Steveston, Ironwood and Hamilton. Richmond's waterfront location and modern architecture call for moisture-proof, durable flooring.
Condo and high-rise large format tile
Many Richmond projects are in concrete condo towers and strata buildings. Concrete slabs are stiff, which suits large tile, but they are rarely flat enough as poured.
- Slab flatness checked with a 10 ft straightedge. High spots are ground and low spots filled with self-levelling underlayment.
- Sound-rated underlayment where strata bylaws require it under hard flooring.
How we keep large tiles flat
- Porcelain, ceramic and stone tiles up to 48" (1200 mm).
- Floors flattened to 1/8" in 10 ft and 1/16" in 24", the ANSI A108.02 limit for tiles with an edge of 15" or more.
- Back-buttering plus notched-trowel mortar for full support under every tile.
