Shower Installation FAQs
How much does a tiled shower installation cost in Vancouver?
A custom tiled shower in Vancouver typically runs $6,000–$15,000+ depending on size, tile selection (porcelain vs. natural stone vs. large-format slabs), waterproofing system, glass enclosure, and features like niches, benches and curbless thresholds. Every quote includes the Schluter or Laticrete waterproofing membrane — never a shortcut.
What waterproofing system do you use for showers?
We install full Schluter Kerdi or Laticrete Hydro Ban waterproofing systems on every shower — including walls, curb, niches and pre-sloped Kerdi-Shower-T or custom mud-set pans. These are the same systems specified by architects and inspected for code compliance across BC.
Can you build a curbless walk-in shower?
Yes — curbless (zero-threshold) showers are one of our specialties. We coordinate floor framing, linear drain placement, slope and waterproofing so the bathroom floor flows seamlessly into the shower. Curbless designs are accessible-friendly and visually stunning.
How long does a shower tile installation take?
A full shower demo and tile installation typically takes 5–10 working days: demo and rough-in (1–2 days), waterproofing and flood-test (2 days), tiling (2–3 days), grout and silicone (1 day), and glass install. We coordinate with plumbers, electricians and glass fabricators throughout.
What is the best tile for a shower floor?
Small-format mosaic tile (2×2″ or smaller) is the classic choice for shower floors — the extra grout lines provide grip and conform to drain slope. Pebble tile is popular too. We recommend porcelain mosaic with a slip-resistant (DCOF ≥ 0.42) rating for safety.
